Qualifying rules
A set of rules made by the Inland Revenue rules, which define the conditions that must be met for the proceeds of a life assurance policy to be paid tax free.

Quotation
A detailed listing of all costs, fees etc that will be incurred in taking out the specified loan.

Quotation regulations
Rules upheld by the Consumer Credit Act 1974 and controlled by statutory instruments, which the secretary of state can lay before Parliament.

The Advertising Regulations control all loan advertising and are enforced by local Trading Standards Officers.
